A rucksack brimming with excitement and joy – joy that already starts brewing at breakfast! A promise of a wonderful day, an active day in South Tyrol. A
bit of mountain, a
bit of pleasure, a lot of
nature, exercise, and fresh air. Between gentian and edelweiss, chanterelle and squirrels, between the sound of cowbells and yodelling. Okay, you rarely hear the latter; it’s more of a cliché than a real thing in South Tyrol.
You can discover real South Tyrol in the Alpine hut when we arrive, put down our rucksacks and trekking poles, and sit down at a beautiful wooden table, which our guides have reserved in advance. Then comes the food: Speck, cheese and pressed dumplings, Schlutzkrapfen (similar to ravioli), snack boards, Kaiserschmarrn (torn pancake), and all the other original delicacies. Accompanied by a fresh Hefeweizen beer. Mmm… Divine! And, for those inclined, a schnapps from the hut is the perfect finish. This might make the thought of yodelling a little more enticing on the way back!
